FindTalent is seeking an accomplished and detail-oriented Senior Project Manager – Transmission & Distribution Construction to manage high-impact utility infrastructure projects across New Jersey and the Mid-Atlantic region. This position is ideal for a senior professional with strong expertise in T&D construction, field operations, and project delivery within the electrical utility sector.

This leadership role involves overseeing multiple large-scale T&D projects from pre-construction through commissioning. The ideal candidate brings deep technical knowledge, excellent project controls experience, and the ability to build strong relationships with utility partners, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the full lifecycle of T&D construction projects, including overhead/underground transmission lines, substations, and distribution systems

• Manage project budgets, schedules, resources, and subcontractor coordination to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery

• Serve as the primary liaison with clients, engineers, vendors, and utility representatives throughout the project

• Review and interpret engineering drawings, technical specs, and permit requirements

• Generate RFIs, manage change orders, and ensure all documentation is accurate and up to date

• Monitor job costs and progress, provide timely reporting, and forecast project outcomes

• Conduct site walkdowns, manage field operations, and ensure all activities comply with safety and quality standards

• Support estimating and procurement efforts including material takeoffs and vendor coordination

• Facilitate project meetings, promote accountability, and maintain clear communication across all project stakeholders

• Contribute to closeout processes, lessons learned, and continuous improvement efforts

Education, Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil or Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent industry experience)

• Minimum 10 years of experience managing electrical utility construction projects, with a focus on T&D infrastructure

• In-depth knowledge of Northeast utility systems, regulations, and construction methods

• Strong scheduling and budgeting expertise using software like Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project

• Experience with estimating and cost management tools (e.g., Procore, Accubid, or similar platforms)

• Proven leadership of cross-functional teams on complex, multi-million-dollar projects

• Thorough understanding of NEC, NESC, OSHA, and New Jersey regulatory requirements

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to travel regionally to job sites across New Jersey and neighboring states

Preferred Qualifications:

• PMP, CCM, or similar project management credential

• Experience with union labor and major NJ utilities (e.g., PSE&G, JCP&L)

• Familiarity with grid modernization, renewable integration, and undergrounding initiatives

• Prior experience delivering public utility or infrastructure projects in the Mid-Atlantic.
