Description:

We are seeking an experienced Substation Project Manager to oversee and coordinate electrical substation construction projects across the Southwest and Southern U.S. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget, while maintaining quality standards and effective communication with field teams and subcontractors.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the electrical utilities industry, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously. This position involves leading teams, solving on-site challenges, and ensuring seamless project execution from planning through closeout.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead overall project activities, including planning, scheduling, and resolving operational challenges.
  • Maintain and manage project documentation, such as submittals, RFIs, meeting minutes, material tracking, and action items.
  • Develop, monitor, and update detailed project schedules and budgets throughout all project phases.
  • Support project team with approvals, purchase orders, work orders, and related administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate with field personnel and coordinate with subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor contractor progress and adherence to project specifications.
  • Represent the company in project meetings and communications with stakeholders.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety protocols and training requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to field personnel as needed.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in electrical utilities or substation construction projects.
  • Strong organizational, scheduling, and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and project scheduling software; experience with Microsoft Project or Smartsheet is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment managing multiple timelines.
  • Willingness to travel as required for project oversight.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record.
