The Electrical Superintendent will lead field execution on complex, mission-critical data center projects. This role will oversee electrical construction activities from mobilization through commissioning and final turnover, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality project delivery.
The Electrical Superintendent will work closely with project management, engineering, subcontractors, and other trades to coordinate field activities, maintain project milestones, and ensure successful execution of critical electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily electrical construction operations from mobilization through commissioning and final turnover.
- Supervise field personnel, subcontractors, vendors, and other site resources to achieve project milestones.
- Develop look-ahead schedules, manpower plans, and short-term execution strategies.
- Enforce safety requirements, quality standards, project specifications, and applicable electrical codes.
- Coordinate with project management, engineering, general contractors, and other trades to identify and resolve field conflicts.
- Monitor productivity, project progress, materials, equipment, and site logistics.
- Lead field huddles, coordination meetings, and subcontractor planning sessions.
- Support QA/QC activities, inspections, testing, commissioning, and turnover.
- Identify and resolve schedule risks, delays, coordination issues, and construction challenges.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, manpower tracking, progress documentation, and field records.
- Coordinate construction sequencing and ensure electrical activities align with overall project schedules.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, productivity, and successful project execution.
Requirements & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or construction-related degree preferred.
- 8–12 years of recent electrical construction experience.
- 1–3 years of experience in a Superintendent, General Foreman, or lead supervisory role.
- Direct data center or mission-critical construction experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of critical power systems and redundancy configurations, including N, N+1, and 2N.
- Understanding of electrical construction sequencing, scheduling, commissioning, and turnover processes.
- Ability to interpret complex electrical drawings, specifications, one-lines, and BIM coordination documents.
- Journeyman or Master Electrical License preferred.
- OSHA 30 certification or ability to obtain.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong leadership, communication, coordination, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to successfully complete required background, motor vehicle, and applicable drug screening.
