About the role

FindTalent is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team, supporting a client in the electrical utility construction sector. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing project requirements, preparing accurate cost estimates, and developing competitive bids for utility, commercial, industrial, and institutional electrical projects. Your expertise will contribute to securing contracts and ensuring successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review project plans, specifications, and blueprints to assess electrical system needs.
• Conduct site visits to evaluate conditions and identify potential challenges.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to define project scope and objectives.
• Develop detailed cost estimates, factoring in labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Utilize estimating software tools to generate precise and competitive bids.
• Account for variables such as permits, inspections, and change orders when calculating costs.
• Obtain and negotiate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Prepare structured proposals outlining the value and competitiveness of the company’s services.
• Present project proposals to clients and participate in contract negotiations.
• Identify potential project risks and provide solutions for mitigation.
• Stay informed on market trends, industry standards, and regulatory changes affecting project budgets.
• Maintain accurate records of estimates, proposals, and project documentation.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and industry regulations.
• Work closely with project teams to support project planning and execution.

Qualifications:

• A degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or relevant trade experience is preferred but not required.
• Minimum of three years of experience in estimating, construction cost management, or a related field.
• Proficiency in construction estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, industry codes, and safety regulations.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and thoroughness.
• Ability to independently estimate electrical projects valued at $100,000 or more.
• Experience in preparing and presenting detailed project proposals.
• Awareness of industry trends, market conditions, and cost-effective strategies.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Compensation: The estimated salary range for this position is $60,500 to $80,000 annually. Compensation will be determined based on factors such as location, experience, skills, and project complexity. FindTalent is committed to offering competitive compensation packages to attract and retain top talent. Candidates with extensive experience and industry expertise may qualify for the higher end of the salary range.
