FindTalent is seeking a Senior Project Manager on behalf of our client, a leading organization in the construction and infrastructure industry. This role is pivotal in overseeing project execution, ensuring high-quality outcomes that prioritize safety, timeliness, and budget adherence. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, strategic thinking, and industry expertise to drive success.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing project team.
Establish and maintain strong client relationships.
Oversee project planning, execution, and successful delivery.
Manage projects throughout the entire project lifecycle.
Promote and enforce a strong safety culture.
Conduct regular site visits, leading by example and ensuring safety compliance.
Develop, implement, and uphold comprehensive safety plans.
Mentorship & Leadership:
Guide and support Assistant Project Managers and Project Managers, providing training and accountability.
Serve as a mentor to new team members, ensuring they understand business processes.
Collaborate with support staff and cross-functional teams.
Develop a succession plan to support future team growth and sustainability.
Client Relations:
Build and strengthen relationships with General Contractors and project owners.
Manage client accounts with a focus on long-term collaboration and future opportunities.
Work closely with field leadership, integrating Agile and other internal processes.
Project Planning & Execution:
Clearly define team roles and responsibilities for each project.
Ensure all contractual obligations are identified and addressed in the planning stages.
Oversee and validate pre-job planning tasks before work commencement.
Share insights and lessons learned from previous projects to enhance team preparedness.
Develop and implement a solid financial strategy, ensuring accurate reporting and positive cash flow.
Lead project execution from inception to completion, ensuring contract compliance.
Utilize company tools and processes effectively, adjusting Agile reporting as needed.
Maintain up-to-date billing and resolve any outstanding financial discrepancies.
Review and approve change order requests, escalating critical project issues when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business Management, or a related field. Equivalent industry experience or a union trade background will also be considered.
10+ years of relevant experience in construction project management.
Proficiency in electrical, mechanical, structural, civil, and architectural plans, with the ability to analyze schedules, costs, and performance metrics.
Strong skills in estimating, scheduling, budgeting, financial reporting, and client relations.
Proficient in Google Suite, Primavera Project & Contract Management, and Bluebeam.
Experience leading teams and mentoring team members.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all levels, from field teams to executive leadership.
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively for yourself and your team.
